Literature Text

Do whatever you want,
Give in to your desires,
Fulfill all your wants,
Hold nothing back.

I once believed this,
And let it all out,
But I was never happy,
Was never satisfied.

By freeing my desires,
I became a slave of them,
Now I need my freedom back,
Freedom from my crazy wants.
This crazy world talks about freedom in a very loose way. They say we should be free to do whatever we want. But they do not realize that in giving our desires too much freedom, we become enslaved to them and cannot imagine living without these desires. They must be moderated and cannot be allowed to run wild. Only then will we experience true freedom in the heart.

Oh! Watch the Shawshank Redemption. Great movie about understanding freedom.

Profound poem. On the subject of freeing our desires and therefore being enslaved by them, I am 50/50.
People who have the desire to help others would not feel enslaved by those desires, fore they're altruists
at heart. On the other hand, people who have the desire to hurt others shows a level of psychosis that
consumes you. I understand the message of your poem. Someone like me who has suppressed my
desires most of the time has felt that much more enslaved by them when I free them, because I want
to feel that happiness all the time. Great work.
